One of the most important challenges of today's societies, which has become extremely common, is the reality called divorce. which imposes various harmful personal and social consequences on individuals and society. The present study was conducted with the aim of comparing the causes of consensual divorce from the perspective of couples applying for consensual divorce in Dezful city. The research method was a combination of qualitative and quantitative type. The statistical population includes all the couples applying for a consensual divorce who went to the psychological centers of Dezful city for counseling in the second half of 2022 through registration in Zaman system. A total of 62 couples (equivalent to 124 people, 62 women and 62 men) were studied using available sampling. The data collection tool was structured interview by the welfare organization and semi-structured interview by the researcher. The results of the research showed that the most common reasons for divorce in men were sexual dissatisfaction, neglect of the wife and the interference of others. And the most common reason for divorce among women was beating, sexual dissatisfaction and Unemployment (economic irresponsibility) and poverty. The results of the research show the lack of mutual understanding and recognition of couples and the existence of an urgent need for counseling and training before marriage and before divorce.
